We don’t have to look far to wonder who He’s calling us to minister to. When we make ourselves available to Him, He changes the world around us, through us!

There’s a saying that goes, “God doesn’t call the qualified. He qualifies the called.” And it really is true! Time after time throughout Scripture, we see God take ordinary people and use them to accomplish extraordinary things. We don’t have to be capable — we just have to be available to Him.

“If the grass is greener on the other side, the water bill is likely higher…” 🙂 As the Christ follower looks forward to what’s on “The Other Side” of this life, are we putting feet to our faith by being Jesus’ hands, heart, and voice on THIS side? And, are we reflecting His love & grace with anyone on “The Other Side” of our conversations?

The Bible promises us that one day, Jesus will return for His people — and on that day, we’d better be prepared. In the same way that we wake up every morning and get ready for the day physically, we should wake up every morning and get ready for the day spiritually, too. And part of being spiritually prepared is being ready, willing and able to share the Gospel with those God puts in our path along the way.

Point #1: God is always at work. Point #2: God wants to partner with US to accomplish His mission! But in order to be part of this awesome privilege, we have to make ourselves available to Him as “human resources”, ready to respond the moment He calls us. And when we’re willing to drop what we’re doing to respond to Him, we become more useful tools for the work of His Kingdom.

We don’t have to do huge things or make grand gestures in order to please God. On the contrary, it’s when we sacrifice ourselves for His sake in little, everyday ways that we honor Him. The key is to start small and obey His leading, so that when He prompts us to make bigger changes down the road, we’ll be available to be used by Him in amazing ways!

Ever heard the saying, “If it’s important to you, you’ll find a way. If not, you’ll find an excuse”? It’s easy to find all the reasons why God shouldn’t use us — or the reasons why we don’t want Him to use us — but all of those “reasons” are just excuses in disguise. God wants to use us to reach the people He’s put around us, and no amount of inadequacy on our part can stop Him from accomplishing what He wants to do in and through us!
