If we ever doubt God’s reason, purpose, and perfect timing for our lives, we only need to look at the hundreds of prophecies that Jesus fulfilled to realize that He’s always had His hand in each and every detail! There’s nothing that happens in your life or mine that’s outside the plan and the will of God. He sees the bigger picture — even when we don’t.

All You Got |

Are we giving God all that we’ve got, or are we withholding ourselves from Him? Jesus gave His very life — all that He had — so that we could be saved. Now, He asks us to do the same. We get the opportunity to be a living sacrifice for Him, and that requires yielding our lives entirely to His will in order to bring about our greatest good and His greatest glory.

Sabotage |

In earthly terms, “sabotage” is a tactic used to destroy something that’s of value to the other side. In spiritual terms, it’s not much different — but it comes at a much higher cost. The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy. He opposes God’s plans for us and constantly tries to sabotage God’s promises to provide us with a hope and a future. We have a choice: whose words are we going to believe?

Goal Tending |

Anyone can set a random goal — but not everyone will set a godly goal. God places specific desires within each of our hearts that are honoring and pleasing to Him, and working towards the plans He’s set for our lives helps make us ready for His calling when it becomes clear that we’re being prompted to respond and obey.

Once upon a time, there were people who would keep the plastic packaging around a piece of new furniture for as long as possible, in hopes of preserving its newness. The problem was, not only was it uncomfortable to sit on — its intended design was being wasted. Our walk with God can often be like a new piece of furniture. He has a plan and a purpose for our lives, but we’re reluctant to be used by Him. Yet unlike furniture, the more we give of ourselves to God, the more He keeps creating a sense of newness within us.

Need To Know |

We live in the information age. We can access just about anything we want, at our fingertips and at a moment’s notice. But God’s timing doesn’t always result in instant gratification. Sometimes, having too much information isn’t in our best interest; that’s why God puts us on a “need to know” basis where we can learn to trust His plan for our lives and walk by faith.

Part of why God makes us NEW, is so we can be USED by Him! However, if we’re not seeking a purposeful life of loving and serving Jesus, then we’re missing out on a NEW beautiful, grace-filled, abundant life of being USED by our Savior. After all, when we’re being used by God, He gets the glory, and we get the blessings!

You Are Here |

We spend so much of this life trying to figure out who, what, and where we’re supposed to be, that we often forget to rest in this important truth: God has a plan and a purpose for each of us. When we choose to follow Jesus, we’re also choosing to align our will with us. How different might our lives look if we woke up every day looking for why He placed us where He did, and who He placed us there to reach with the saving truth of the Gospel?

Choices… we’re faced with them every day. So how can we armor ourselves from becoming separated from God’s good and perfect will for us by unhealthy choices? By making sure that OUR choices ALIGN with GOD’S choices for us. He wants us at full spiritual readiness to die daily to the sinful nature (that renders us to being just another “man down”) and “man up”, seeking out His purpose, wisdom, strength, and grace!

God has equipped every single one of His followers (even you!) to be examples (publicly & privately) of who we are IN HIM. May what we do reflect who we are, and may who we are dictate what we do (especially with our resources). May we give our all to Him, trusting His promise to meet our needs!

God had a purpose for the lives of Jacob and Esau, and even when they got in the way of themselves, nothing they did could ultimately change His plan. Our number one goal should be to live in such a way that it pleases God, but for those times when we inevitably screw up, there’s good news: He can take any mess in our lives and use it for His glory.

You don’t have to be a “Type A” personality to make plans; even the most flexible and spontaneous among us still try to direct the outcomes of our lives! But sometimes, the way God gets us to where He wants us to go is the way we never would have chosen for ourselves. In the moments, we have a choice to make: will we worship God despite our circumstances, or shake our fists at Him when things don’t go the way we planned?
