God made the Church to be His Bride by loving her enough to die for her. Do we, as the Church, respond accordingly in love? Foreplay is used to lead to intimacy in marriage, but in a spiritual way, it can be used to lead to intimacy with God. We need to give Him our time and attention, in worship and prayer, showing that our heart truly loves the One who first loved us.

During wartime, a battle cross often marks the place of a soldier’s death. It may not mean much to strangers, but it symbolizes a great loss to those that knew the person who died. Jesus died on a cross to win a battle for us — but it only means something if we’re in relationship with Him. And until we have that relationship with the Lord, we’ll never be able to experience true love and intimacy in relationships with other people.

Scripture doesn’t talk about Christ being BEside the believer — it talks about Christ being INside the believer! The deeper our relationship with God, the better we get to know Him. And the better we get to know Him, the more we become just like our Father!
