2-Minute Warning |

The Bible tells us that this life is like a vapor. In fact, according to God’s time, we’re on this earth for mere minutes in the grand scheme of eternity. It’s important for us to realize that time is slipping away, not so that we can live in fear of dying, but so that we can utilize what time we have left by following His will and living to glorify Him.

Jesus said that He came so that we might have life more abundantly. God has a plan for each of us, but if we’re going to experience it, we have to get up and step into the fullness that awaits us. He offers a life full of purpose; are you ready to receive it?

This life is fleeting, and we only live it once. That’s why it’s so important for us to take our one shot seriously, instead of getting caught up in the distractions of a temporary world. When we yield to God’s purpose and plan, He can use us to grow His Kingdom.

The gaming world is filled with non-player characters, or “NPCs” that fill space and have no interaction with the player or the outcome of the game. Here’s the good news: Christians aren’t NPCs! We can — and should — live our faith journey as active participants. In God’s world, everyone matters and is important, regardless of skill, qualification, or past failure. In fact, it’s only through His strength and power that we’re able to win in the game called “Life”.

Did you know that when the Holy Spirit dwells inside us, we have supernatural power? It’s the power to live a life that’s pleasing to God — a life that we could never live on our own apart from Him. When we stop living for ourselves and start living for Him, we experience life’s true source of pleasure that surpasses anything we could find in this world.

And as the song continues, “…Call someone who cares.” Well, Someone does care, and even though one might not think they can “get through” to Him, He’s NEVER not near. Jesus is ALWAYS ready to draw people to Him, and He’d love to USE YOU in that process!

Choices… we’re faced with them every day. So how can we armor ourselves from becoming separated from God’s good and perfect will for us by unhealthy choices? By making sure that OUR choices ALIGN with GOD’S choices for us. He wants us at full spiritual readiness to die daily to the sinful nature (that renders us to being just another “man down”) and “man up”, seeking out His purpose, wisdom, strength, and grace!

“…signed, sealed, delivered, I’m yours!” If God the Father signs our name in the Book of Life, and if God the Son seals our salvation on the cross, and if God the Spirit delivers to us His daily comfort and strength, why wouldn’t we want to say “Here I am, send me!”?

God doesn’t restore us just for our benefit of eternal life through Jesus. His additional purpose for us is to engage in the life He’s called us to, by loving, helping, and serving others, especially our fellow Christ followers!

Perhaps at one time you received God’s gift of grace through Jesus, then just kept living your life as usual. Why go it alone? Will you give Him a second look? Maybe you’ve dutifully served Christ for a long time, but you’ve lost your connection and passion. Why go it alone? Will you give Him a second look? Whatever you’re trying to handle alone, Jesus is waiting to be invited in to that situation. He’s asking us to simply take a second look.

Just like we need regular water intake to physically live, the believer needs regular Living Water intake to spiritually live. If we’re not tapped in to God’s purpose for us (through prayer, Bible study, and healthy fellowship), we’re missing out on most of His abundant gifts and fruits!
