God doesn’t cause fear and confusion — He safeguards us against those things. He offers us the Holy Spirit to live inside us, so that we can be filled with power, love, and a sound mind. And when we have Him inside our hearts and our lives, no weapon formed against us will stand.

Isaiah 43:2 tells us, “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.” The Bible’s filled with examples of men and women who chose to obey God in spite of serious consequences. When we trust Him, He promises to walk with us through any fire we face.

God’s given us the truth of Scripture not only as a gift, but also as a weapon! The devil uses lies to distract us from God’s calling. But when we use both prayer and the Word to safeguard against the attack of the enemy, we’re better able to fight his attempts at destroying God’s work.
