If we’re not careful, the sheer wonder of our salvation can fade from the forefront of our minds. But the fact remains: Jesus was willing to take on hell itself for our sake. That’s why we’ve got to be passionate about sharing the Gospel with others, to the point that we’re willing to do whatever it takes and sacrifice whatever is required for them to be saved, too.

God calls us to preach the Good News and make disciples of all nations — whether we journey to another country for a mission trip, or we walk down to the end of our block to love on our neighbor. The world is hungry to know the one true God, and it’s our job to tell them about Him. He’s given us the Gospel to share that every person we meet might have the opportunity to become part of His family.

Jesus left His disciples — and all of us — with the Great Commission to share the Gospel with the world. But the Bible also teaches us to be careful who we share it with. Not everyone is hungry for the truth we have to offer, and their intention is to tear us apart. It’s important for us to look to Jesus and follow His example on when to speak and when to be silent.

Next time you find yourself experiencing self-doubt or questioning your worth, remember this: before you were even born, God picked you to carry out His mission on earth. He’s chosen each of us not only to spend eternity with Him, but to spread His Gospel to the world while we’re here.

Have you ever smelled soil when it’s been freshly fertilized? It smells awful — but it’s also crucial to the soil producing a good harvest. Sometimes our lives start to “smell”, and it’s because God may be fertilizing the soil around us so that we can begin to produce spiritually. Jesus was passionate about us, even to the point of death, and in order for us to bear fruit, it’s critical that we be passionate about spreading the Gospel.

Jesus left His disciples with the Great Commission — the directive to go and spread the Gospel throughout the whole world. But do you know what’s even more amazing? The same power that was in those disciples, who took the Gospel to the ends of the earth, is also in us when we choose to follow Jesus. We’re not meant to keep what He’s done for us hidden; we’re meant to share the Good News, and share it far and wide!

Of all the places in the world, there’s no better place to be than exactly where God has called us to go. When Jesus said to go and make disciples of all nations, it was a command, not a suggestion. Our entire purpose for being is to follow Him and to bring glory to His name.

No matter what struggles and trials we face during our life on earth, we can take hope in knowing that we have a Savior who’s gone before us to prepare our eternal home. But until He calls us to join Him there, He’s told us how we’re to spend our days in the meantime: spreading the Gospel, and discipling other believers to go and do the same.

The Way In A Manger |

In John 14, Jesus tells us that He is THE Way, THE Truth, and THE Life, and that there is no other way to the Father except through Him. Our job as Christians is to spread that Gospel message. In a world where “truth” seems more subjective every day, are we ready to share the one and only Truth with others when the opportunity presents itself?

Raising Jesus |
12.26.20 |

Scripture chronicles three different ways that Jesus was raised: by His parents throughout His childhood, on the cross when He was crucified, and from the grave when He triumphed over death. It was for our sin that He was born, died, and resurrected — the question is, do we raise Him up in our daily lives by sharing the Good News of salvation with the rest of the world?

The Weight Of The World |

This world of broken people is waiting for us to acknowledge the weight they carry, and to bring them the answers that can only be found in Jesus. God’s always working on the other side of the situation, even when we can’t see Him — that’s why we’ve got to obey Him when He calls, knowing other people’s lives are at stake.

It’s all too easy for us to make judgments about other people when we’re ignorant about their lives and their backgrounds. But that’s not a justification for us to stay ignorant! Instead, let’s seek to learn from and about others so we’re better able to share the Gospel with them in ways they can understand.
