It’s easy to look at other people’s lives and compare what we see to what we don’t have ourselves. But as we’re looking at the outside, God’s busy working on us from the inside. Whatever — or whoever — we’re waiting on God to bring into our lives, let’s not compromise our standards, but let’s trust Him while we wait.
There may be times when God tells us to do something, but there are also times when He also tells us to wait on Him. When God’s power is present in our lives because we’re waiting on Him, it’s evident to everyone around us. When we try to do something in our own power, the result is ultimately failure, so it’s better to wait on God for His leadership, guidance and power!
Oftentimes we can get caught up in our lives doing whatever it is we want to do. But then God comes along, calls us out, and stops us in our tracks! When God uses something to get our attention, we need to stop, repent, and follow where He leads.
God isn’t trying to “ruin” our life when He asks us to wait. He just offers us these times as a test of obedience and our patient love for Him, expressing our faith that He knows what’s best for us in EVERY situation, if we’d just take the time to wait on Him!
We’re all faced with decisions in life, and they’re all worthy of us seeking God’s guidance and counsel first. Praying and waiting on God can save us from a lot of trouble, and the rewards will always be worth the wait!
There are situations in life, where if God doesn’t “come through”, it’s just not going to happen. Nothing we do is going to help it, change it, fix it. So being patient in God’s grace and mercy are our only answer, and that’s certainly enough!
